Data Scientist – WeChat

About the role

Join the WeChat team in Singapore as a Data Scientist, where you will help shape user experiences across a global messaging and social networking platform. You will combine quantitative analysis, computer‑vision expertise, and large‑language‑model techniques to drive product improvements and uncover new opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Explore qualitative and quantitative data sets to generate actionable insights for the WeChat ecosystem.
• Collect, clean, validate, and transform large structured and unstructured data sources.
• Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and automated data pipelines for continuous business monitoring.
• Analyze patterns, trends, and anomalies to identify opportunities or threats.
• Own and evolve computer‑vision infrastructure, including model training, serving pipelines, and evaluation frameworks.
• Develop and deploy computer‑vision solutions such as image/video understanding, OCR, content moderation, and multimodal analysis.
• Leverage LLM‑based approaches and other machine‑learning techniques to enhance analytical capabilities and support intelligent product features.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Hands‑on experience developing LLM applications (fine‑tuning, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, agent frameworks).
• Experience with computer‑vision models (object detection, image classification, multimodal models) is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data findings into clear business recommendations.
