Dental Assistant

About the role

NHG Polyclinics is looking for a Dental Assistant to join its dental care team, supporting Dental Surgeons, Dental Officers and Oral Health Therapists in delivering safe and effective patient care in a busy clinic. On-the-job training is provided, and candidates without prior experience in dental assisting are welcome to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clinicians with four-handed dentistry during dental procedures
• Follow infection control measures, procedures and protocols
• Support basic patient communication, give patient assistance and reassurance during treatment
• Educate patients on dental wayfinding and post-operative care
• Provide administrative support for laboratory cases, consumables and clinic inventories, and coordinate basic equipment maintenance
• Support sterilisation and decontamination of dental instruments
• Take part in quality improvement activities within the clinic

Required profile

• Minimum qualification: GCE 'N' / 'O' / 'A' Level, Higher NITEC or Polytechnic Diploma
• Able to commit to weekday work and scheduled Saturdays
• Pleasant disposition, good communication and interpersonal skills, proactive and team-oriented
• Comfortable in a fast-paced clinic environment, computer literate and able to multi-task

Advantages
