Deputy Constituency Director

About the role

Partnering with the Constituency Director, the Deputy Constituency Director co‑leads planning, coordination and implementation of community initiatives to build social capital and strengthen People‑Government‑People connectivity. The role drives grassroots engagement, ensuring residents are well‑served and the constituency remains cohesive and harmonious.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑lead constituency planning and Grassroots Organisation (GRO) development, formulating annual workplans aligned with national and PA objectives.
• Guide, coach and develop Grassroots Leaders and volunteers, overseeing recruitment, training and renewal.
• Supervise the planning and delivery of community programmes covering wellness, emergency preparedness, sports, integration, family life and youth.
• Facilitate communication of government policies to residents, gather ground sentiments and channel feedback to relevant agencies.
• Lead monthly Citizens' Consultative Committee and Community Centre/Club Management Committee meetings to ensure effective governance.
• Oversee constituency office administration, accounting and cash management in compliance with PA financial rules.
• Establish and strengthen partnerships with voluntary welfare organisations, merchant associations and religious groups.
• Lead and motivate Constituency Office staff to deliver quality services and meet organisational objectives.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in community development, grassroots work or social services, with 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong community engagement and ground‑sensing capabilities, ability to facilitate dialogue among diverse stakeholders, and good understanding of government policies.
• Resilience and adaptability in managing competing priorities and changing conditions.
• Nice‑to‑have: proficiency in a second language (Malay, Tamil or a Chinese dialect) to engage diverse residents.
