Deputy Manager, Data Hub & Data Products

About the role

The Deputy Manager, Data Hub & Data Products supports the design, development and operationalisation of an institute's enterprise Data Hub. The role combines data architecture, data modelling and data product management so that data assets are organised, governed and delivered as trusted data products supporting analytics, reporting, AI and decision-making. The incumbent works with schools, departments, business stakeholders and external technology vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Data product management: develop and deliver enterprise data products, turn business use cases into requirements and roadmaps, drive adoption, monitor performance and support Data-as-a-Service.
• Enterprise data modelling: design and maintain conceptual, logical and physical models, business entities, rules and metadata, and collaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards.
• Data architecture and integration: support the Lead Data Architect, review vendor designs, support ingestion, transformation and integration, and contribute to architecture blueprints and standards.
• Data warehouse and hub delivery: lead technical discussions, review ETL/ELT pipelines and data quality, support onboarding of source systems, testing and release, and ensure data is AI-ready.
• Vendor and technical management: oversee external vendors, review deliverables, perform root cause analysis of data issues and ensure knowledge transfer and documentation.

Required profile

• Qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in data warehousing, enterprise data management, data architecture, data modelling, data engineering, business intelligence or analytics platforms.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale data platforms and managing vendor-led technology implementation projects.
• Experience in education, public sector or large complex organisations is advantageous; familiarity with IHL business processes and data domains is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of dimensional modelling, star and snowflake schemas, modern data architecture, ETL/ELT, master and reference data, metadata and data quality management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and strong facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills.
