Deputy Principal/Senior/Executive Engineer (Landfill Management and Operations)

About the role

The Landfill Management and Operations Department (LMOD) oversees Semakau Landfill, Singapore's only landfill for waste disposal. This contract position covers the Deputy Principal/Senior/Executive Engineer at Semakau Landfill (SL) and Tuas Marine Transfer Station (TMTS), working offshore at Semakau or at TMTS.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and implement the operation and maintenance (O&M) programme, the command centre for waste receiving operations at SL and TMTS, and upcoming projects.
• Prepare specifications and call tenders or quotations for O&M works, spare parts, consultancy studies and construction or refurbishment of facilities and infrastructure, and administer the contracts.
• Lead Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Executives to supervise O&M contractors and manage landfilling operations.
• Review and manage the safety and security of the infrastructure to mitigate hazards and threats.
• Assist in coordinating or monitoring projects or works by NEA or external agencies when assigned, and take part in operational improvement projects.
• Take part in ISO9001/14001, ECO office, energy efficiency, sustainability and other organisational development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline recognised by the Professional Engineer Board.
• At least 3 years of experience in consultancy, construction or infrastructure.
• Project management, procurement and contract management experience preferred.
• Able to work independently, under pressure and with tight deadlines, and to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
