Design Director – Architecture (Singapore)

About the role

An international architecture studio is seeking a Design Director for its Singapore office. This senior leadership position will shape high‑profile, high‑rise residential projects across the Asia‑Pacific region while leading a multidisciplinary team of 20‑30 architects and designers in a collaborative, design‑led environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide design leadership from concept through detailed documentation on multiple projects.
• Act as the principal design author and key decision‑maker on major schemes.
• Lead client, stakeholder and government liaison, delivering presentations and securing approvals.
• Oversee team performance, resourcing, and output quality.
• Mentor and develop staff to foster a collaborative studio culture.
• Support business development and cultivate future client opportunities.
• Collaborate with international teams on multi‑office projects and travel regionally as required.
• Champion emerging technologies and AI‑driven design processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in design, contract administration, or project management.
• Registered Architect in the UK, Hong Kong, or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale or high‑profile projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit/BIM and Rhino Grasshopper.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership managing sizeable design teams.
