Design Director – Data Center Solutions

About the role

A Design Director is needed to help expand a Neo Cloud business in Singapore, where relocation is mandatory. The role acts as the technical backbone of the sales organization, aligning customer business needs with the company's technology capabilities and solution portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Engage closely with clients to understand business and technical requirements and turn them into clear technical specifications.
• Support sales through technical presentations, proposals, RFP/RFI responses and cost estimation.
• Provide technical leadership across the project lifecycle, from concept and design through implementation and post-deployment support.
• Work with vendors, OEMs and partners to validate designs, develop Bills of Materials (BOM) and estimate costs.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and suppliers to deliver solutions successfully.
• Help close deals, grow the pipeline and position solutions competitively.
• Lead site due diligence, take part in customer meetings, site visits and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Contribute to pricing strategy, cost optimization and solution trade-off analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's preferred.
• 5-12 years of experience in pre-sales or solution engineering roles.
• Mandatory experience in the data center sector, especially colocation and hyperscale environments.
• Proven track record designing and implementing complex technical solutions in the data center or technology industry.
• Prior management experience preferred.
