Desktop Engineer (Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking a Desktop Engineer to support and administer our Microsoft 365 environment, end‑user systems and overall IT infrastructure. The role provides L1/L2 technical support both onsite and remotely, including specialised support for vessel environments, and ensures reliable IT operations across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender.
• Provide L1/L2 technical support to users onsite, remotely and in vessel environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and system issues.
• Monitor system performance, security, backups and updates.
• Manage IT hardware deployment, replacement, lifecycle and asset inventory.
• Coordinate user onboarding and off‑boarding processes.
• Maintain IT documentation, procedures and system records.
• Coordinate with vendors for procurement, service delivery and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of L1/L2 IT support experience in a medium to large enterprise.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on Microsoft 365 administration experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender and network/firewall support.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to provide after‑hours/weekend standby support and travel overseas when required.
