Desktop Software Engineer - Product Access

About the role

Autodesk Platform Services and Emerging Technology - Product Access is looking for a Desktop Software Engineer to build and evolve the platform that powers secure, scalable and reliable access to Autodesk products and services for millions of users and thousands of enterprise customers. You will develop cross-platform solutions for Windows, macOS and Linux, using modern technologies and AI-assisted development.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain secure, reliable and maintainable software across Windows, macOS and Linux
• Investigate technical challenges and develop practical solutions considering quality, performance, security and maintainability
• Build automated tests and contribute to CI/CD practices that enable frequent, high-quality releases
• Improve existing systems by simplifying solutions, addressing technical debt and improving software quality
• Collaborate with teammates through design reviews and code reviews
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve workflows, automation and productivity
• Communicate progress, risks and technical challenges and continuously grow technical knowledge

Required profile

• 1+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Clear communication of technical concepts and collaboration with engineers and stakeholders
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Preferred: experience with large, established codebases and collaborative development via source control and code reviews

Required skills

• At least one programming language such as C++, Go, Rust or Python
• Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code
• Preferred: cross-platform desktop software, automated testing and CI/CD

The role may require in-person onboarding and/or identity verification. Salary depends on experience and location, and the package may include bonuses, stock grants and benefits.
