DevOps & Application Engineer (Cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD)

About the role

The DevOps & Application Engineer will design, automate, and optimise StarHub’s cloud‑native platforms. You will own the build‑and‑release ecosystem, ensure reliability, scalability and security, and accelerate engineering velocity across the IS Division.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce DevOps policies, champion trunk‑based development and automated quality gates.
• Design, develop and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines using Pipeline‑as‑Code (shared libraries, scripted & declarative).
• Write build scripts and infrastructure tooling in Shell, Python and Groovy.
• Administer multi‑cluster Kubernetes environments (EKS, OCP), including Helm charts, RBAC, network policies and autoscaling.
• Implement GitOps workflows with Argo CD or Flux for reproducible deployments.
• Provision and manage AWS resources (EKS, RDS/PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, IAM) and maintain IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Contribute production‑grade application code in Python, Go or TypeScript and participate in design reviews.
• Establish observability using Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch and manage incident response with PagerDuty.
• Author technical documentation and support the internal developer portal (Backstage).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (Master’s a plus).
• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or Software Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Helm and containerised environments.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go or TypeScript).
• Solid SQL skills and proven PostgreSQL administration experience.
• Deep understanding of AWS core services, IAM security and cost‑optimisation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and Linux networking.
• Agile mindset with Scrum team experience and excellent communication skills.
