DevOps Engineer

About the role

Rakuten Asia is looking for a DevOps Engineer to boost platform reliability, accelerate deployments, and enhance observability across its cloud environments. You will own CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, container orchestration, and monitoring while partnering closely with backend, QA, and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Containerize services and manage runtime environments with Docker and Kubernetes on GKE/EKS.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP, Azure and AWS, including IaaS VM operations.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Helm across multiple environments.
• Set up monitoring, alerting and tracing using Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring and CloudWatch; define SLI/SLO targets.
• Support database and storage operations, including backups, replication and performance tuning for RDBMS and NoSQL stores.
• Manage networking, IAM, VPC, load balancers, DNS, RBAC and secrets management.
• Drive reliability improvements, incident response and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with QA on test environments and automation integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on DevOps/SRE experience with production ownership.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration.
• Strong background in CI/CD, IaC, monitoring and incident management.
