Dietitian

About the role

NHG is hiring a Dietitian who provides dietetics services to inpatients, outpatients and the community. Working with a multidisciplinary team, the dietitian delivers Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients whose health conditions need specialised nutrition intervention alongside medical treatment, and promotes better nutrition practices in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical dietetics: deliver evidence-based MNT, apply the nutrition care process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and document nutrition care, communicate care plans to patients, families and caregivers, and manage workload safely
• Education, research and training: take part in continuing professional development, support nutrition research and quality improvement, develop health promotion and nutrition education materials, give talks and workshops, organise outreach events, train team members and supervise dietetic interns, polytechnic students and dietetic assistants
• Food service: educate food service staff on therapeutic diets, liaise with them on dietary requirements, help set up meals in the electronic meal ordering system, assist with food service audits and menu and recipe development
• Administration and leadership: assist with administrative and operational duties and help coordinate daily clinical work

Required profile

• Degree or Master's in Dietetics from a recognised university
• Minimum 6 months of clinical internship
• Eligibility for membership with the Singapore Nutrition & Dietetics Association or another professional association
• Proficiency in written and spoken English, and fluency in Mandarin, Malay, Tamil or dialects
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to collaborate and to keep up to date with evidence-based medical and nutrition information
