Direct Tax Associate

About the role

Baker Tilly is looking for a Direct Tax Associate in Singapore to support its Partner and Manager teams in serving clients on their income tax needs. The role suits graduates and involves client service, advisory support and collaboration within the firm and the Baker Tilly International Network.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with the preparation, review and e-filing of income tax returns, including information requests, documentation and research
• Support clients' income tax advice on business transactions such as new arrangements and cross-border deals
• Help with tax structuring matters and income tax due diligence reviews, typically in M&A situations
• Assist clients in managing IRAS queries and audits, and in obtaining income tax rulings and clarifications from IRAS
• Build relationships with clients and colleagues, and collaborate internally and globally on proposals and tax projects
• Support marketing activities such as seminars, webcasts and business development materials

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or another business-related field
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant internship experience in audit, tax or advisory is an advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Integrity, dependability, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
