Director, APAC Communications

About the role

The Director, APAC Communications will lead the development and execution of communications strategies for S&P Global Energy across the Asia‑Pacific region. This senior position works closely with senior leaders, media, and industry influencers to raise the visibility and reputation of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement communications strategies that position S&P Global Energy as a market leader in data, insights, news and benchmarks.
• Build and maintain relationships with top‑tier media outlets, journalists and industry analysts throughout APAC.
• Draft and distribute external content such as press releases, statements, media advisories, pitch materials and bylined articles.
• Coordinate media interviews, press briefings and events to promote divisional initiatives.
• Monitor regional media coverage and internal metrics to assess effectiveness and alignment with business goals.
• Support crisis communications and rapid‑response initiatives to protect the brand.
• Create internal communications content and manage related events as needed.

Required profile

• Strategic communications leader with strong credibility in the energy or commodities sector.
• Extensive network of media contacts across APAC markets.
• Proven ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear public narratives.
• Experience collaborating with senior executives and subject‑matter experts.
