Duty Engineer – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Duty Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical and fire safety systems at Frasers House, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Singapore. You will lead preventative maintenance, respond to guest repair requests and support the hotel’s safety and disaster response protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges and meters; identify and operate shut‑off valves.
• Order, label, stock parts and maintain inventory and purchase order logs.
• Conduct life‑safety checks, including fire‑pump and generator run tests, and inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Assist in developing disaster‑response protocols and respond to guest repair requests.
• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching staff.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies; report hazards and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 2 years of related engineering/maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• No specific licence or certification required.

Required skills

• Calibration of controls, gauges and meters.
• Operation of power lifts.
• Fire‑pump and generator testing.
• Inspection of fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Inventory management and parts ordering.
• Use of computer systems for work‑order entry.
