Education Research Scientist – Teacher Development & System Improvement

About the role

The Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP) at the National Institute of Education seeks an Education Research Scientist to lead and expand its research agenda on teacher development and education system improvement. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to generating evidence‑based insights for classrooms, schools, families, and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and lead a coherent programme of education research aligned with CRPP’s strategic priorities.
• Conduct rigorous, multidisciplinary studies using participatory, design‑based, ethnographic, comparative, longitudinal, or mixed‑methods approaches.
• Collaborate with schools, the Ministry of Education, and other stakeholders to translate research findings into policy and professional practice.
• Publish research outcomes in high‑impact academic journals and present at conferences.
• Contribute to research‑practice‑policy partnerships and foster sustainable educational change.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Education, Sociology of Education, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas such as school‑family‑community relations, educational equity, place‑based or ecological education, teacher professionalism, or sustainability education.
• Strong track record of peer‑reviewed publications and experience working with education stakeholders.
• Ability to lead research projects and mentor junior researchers.
