Electrical Engineer - Industrial Estates

About the role

JTC is hiring an Electrical Engineer to act as its client representative design engineer for building and infrastructure projects and industrial estates. The role coordinates with the Energy Market Authority (EMA) and Singapore Power (SP) PowerGrid to plan transmission (66kV and above) and distribution (22kV) electrical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate project briefs for consultancy tenders and manage consultants, reviewing their electrical designs, technical calculations, specifications, drawings, material submissions and M&E cost estimates from design through completion.
• Use engineering calculation software to carry out value engineering and cost-benefit analyses while complying with local construction regulations and codes.
• Manage broad project work scopes, resources and timelines with multiple public sector agencies and technical professionals.
• Collaborate with JTC colleagues to forecast future industrial power demand and with government agencies, EMA and SP Group to plan network upgrades and new substation construction.
• Represent JTC in agency committees, communicating engineering concepts and driving innovative solutions across stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Engineering with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in consultancy, design and/or electrical network planning.
• Registration with the Professional Engineers' Board (PEB) is an advantage.
• Certifications such as Design for Safety Professional, Green Mark and Building Construction are advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder coordination.
• Self-driven and dynamic approach to project management.
