Engineering Intern

About the role

The Engineering Intern will work alongside equipment and process engineering teams to analyze, simulate, and physically test hardware modifications. The focus is on improving thermal uniformity, optimizing gas‑flow dynamics, and enhancing mechanical reliability of deposition systems and CVD process chambers.

Key responsibilities

• Design or modify basic mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications under direct supervision.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components, identifying sources for critical parts.
• Perform and document engineering test reports and generate alpha/gamma documentation for product releases.
• Conduct engineering analysis and troubleshoot mechanical problems of general difficulty.
• Help design, develop, and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes.

Required skills

• Core knowledge of structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics.
• Hardware design and prototyping experience.
• Mechanical testing, data collection and analysis.
• Vacuum system maintenance and calibration.
• Understanding of semiconductor tool architecture (optional).
