Engineering Technician – Cold Storage Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Engineering Technician to ensure the reliable operation of a temperature‑controlled cold storage facility. You will be responsible for maintaining refrigeration, cold‑room systems and related building infrastructure, supporting the company’s food safety and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot refrigeration and cold‑room equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building facilities and warehouse machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out timely repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support upkeep of material‑handling equipment and overall facility infrastructure.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure efficient equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety, hygiene and maintenance standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and coordinate with external vendors as needed.

Required profile

• NTC 2, NITEC or equivalent qualification, or relevant technical work experience.
• Experience in refrigeration, HVAC, cold storage, warehouse or factory maintenance preferred.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays and overtime.
• Comfortable working in a cold‑storage environment.
