Engineering Technician – Front End Processing

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician to support front‑end processing equipment in its Singapore facility. The role involves hands‑on work with electro‑mechanical systems, circuit prototypes and test fixtures, ensuring reliable operation of semiconductor manufacturing tools.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical tasks including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems.
• Execute new system installations, NPI (New Product Introduction) upgrades and field modifications.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams and written instructions to conduct testing and troubleshooting activities.

Required profile

• Physically demanding work that requires standing for long periods, walking, bending, lifting, and ability to work in noisy or tight spaces.
• Commitment to safety standards, clean‑room protocols and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical system assembly and maintenance.
• Circuit design and prototype development.
• Operation and troubleshooting of test equipment and fixtures.
• Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and vacuum testing.
• Forklift operation and handling of heavy machinery.
