Engineering Technician (Night 12 hour shift)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, is seeking an Engineering Technician for a 12‑hour night shift in Singapore. The role supports the design, testing, assembly and troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical systems that enable next‑generation semiconductor and display technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical tasks including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems, and conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and process testing on Applied Materials platforms.
• Execute new system and NPI installations, field upgrades, and generate documentation such as logbooks and test procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment, follow safety standards, and report hazards or incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Physically able to stand for long periods, work in tight spaces, lift, climb ladders, and operate heavy machinery such as forklifts.
• Familiar with clean‑room protocols and use of personal protective equipment (coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators).
• Analytical mindset with ability to apply scientific methods to solve typical engineering problems.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical system assembly and troubleshooting.
• Circuit design and prototype modeling.
• Operation of specialized test equipment and fixtures.
• Pneumatic, vacuum and process testing.
• Use of hand and power tools, forklift operation.
