Equipment & Automation Technician – Assistant Engineer

About the role

ExaSynth is a Singapore deep‑tech company building laboratory automation and Physical AI systems. We are looking for a hands‑on Equipment & Automation Technician / Assistant Engineer to support the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of automated laboratory equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of automated laboratory equipment.
• Support electrical wiring, sensors, relays, contactors, motors, actuators, control panels and other automation components.
• Assist with equipment commissioning, preventive maintenance and fault diagnosis using test instruments and technical drawings.
• Maintain service records, maintenance logs and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with ExaSynth engineers and equipment partners to resolve technical issues.
• Provide on‑site support for equipment deployed at research laboratories in Singapore.
• Participate in structured technical training in laboratory automation, robotics and control systems.

Required profile

• Nitec, Higher Nitec, Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical equipment, machinery, control panels, wiring, sensors, motors or industrial equipment (preferred).
• Ability to read electrical drawings and use test instruments such as a multimeter.
• Practical, systematic approach to equipment troubleshooting and strong safety awareness.
• Willingness to learn new automation, robotics and laboratory technologies and work independently or within a team.
