Estimator - HVAC, Mechanical & Cleanroom Projects

About the role

Johnson Controls is hiring an Estimator who works with the sales team and buyers to develop and manage performance guarantees for deployed products and to prepare turnkey tender pricing proposals. The role also oversees the work of assigned resources on small projects.

Key responsibilities

• Work with sales and buyers to develop and manage performance guarantees for implemented products
• Oversee assigned resources on small projects
• Prepare turnkey tender pricing proposals
• Understand tender scopes, measure and take off quantities from drawings, prepare bills of quantities and estimate unit rates and lump sums
• Create pricing benchmarks and standardise pricing formats
• Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids and recommend suitable contractors for HVAC, mechanical and pipe works
• Prepare proposal price forms, commercial qualifications, manpower loading and cash-flow sheets
• Assess commercial risks and opportunities and understand EPC contractual terms
• Take part in commercial negotiations with customers and subcontractors

Required profile

• Degree or diploma with at least 5 years of experience in mechanical, HVAC or industrial projects
• Hands-on experience in mechanical, HVAC and cleanroom projects in the industrial domain; semiconductor, pharma or data centre background is a plus
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale commercial projects
• Ability to engage and influence stakeholders and communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences
