Executive Engineer (Communications)

About the role

The Executive Engineer (Communications) manages and supervises the maintenance of the airport's mission-critical Communications, Navigation Aid and Surveillance (CNS) systems. The role ensures the quality and integrity of the projects, keeps the CNS systems in line with international standards and best practice, and improves both the software and hardware of the existing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project resources and schedules with internal and external parties to deliver facilities and systems that meet the specified standards.
• Manage maintenance contractors so that all maintenance services are performed and the CNS systems are kept to high performance standards.
• Lead project management of system replacements, including procurement and implementation, and support the implementation of new systems.
• Conduct market research, evaluate emerging technologies and take part in their demonstrations to assess suitability for the CAAS environment; evaluation results shape the concept and technical approach of future projects.

Required profile

• Training in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering and/or Engineering (Computing/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
• Good communication and writing skills, interpersonal skills, positive attitude and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as a team player with officers of all levels.
• Analytical, open-minded and self-driven.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours for maintenance and deployment, and to travel for overseas visits, meetings, conferences and training.

Required skills

• Experience in cybersecurity is beneficial.
