Failure Analysis Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Failure Analysis Engineer to support the setup and ramp of our next‑generation semiconductor manufacturing line. You will collaborate across engineering and operations to ensure smooth technology transfer from pathfinding to pilot production, driving efficient fab ramp‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Support and perform Failure Analysis / Construction Analysis jobs for qualification, evaluation, process reject, and RMA cases, delivering final reports.
• Advise cross‑functional teams on appropriate analysis techniques to identify root causes and failure mechanisms.
• Provide machine readiness, perform buy‑off for new tools, and support capacity ramp‑up.
• Develop new analysis capabilities to enhance detection, productivity, and recipe optimization.
• Drive improvement activities such as robustness, cycle‑time reduction, and cost‑saving initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Material, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of reliability testing and failure analysis experience in the semiconductor/photonic industry.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a team‑oriented problem‑solving approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with FA techniques: cross‑section, ion‑mill, CSAM, EDX, FTIR, FIB.
• Experience in material characterisation procedures: bend, abrasion, and adhesion testing.
• Knowledge of materials physics and its relevance to reliability and failure analysis testing.
