Field Operations Engineer – Cable Landing Station

About the role

As a Field Operations Engineer in Submarine Cable Landing Stations, you will ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of critical submarine cable infrastructure. The role is hands‑on, requiring expertise in SDH, DWDM and Ethernet technologies to manage daily operations, conduct network testing, and execute complex projects and migrations. You will troubleshoot intricate issues, adapt quickly to new challenges, and help maintain high availability of the global network.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operations and maintenance support for DWDM, SDH, Ethernet, IP/MPLS and transmission equipment at submarine cable landing stations.
• Resolve proactive and reactive L1 faults by analyzing, troubleshooting and coordinating with NOC technicians or local service providers.
• Support service delivery and provisioning of carrier/metro Ethernet, SDH/DWDM, IP/MPLS, voice and international backbone circuits, performing layer‑1 and layer‑2 testing with optical test equipment.
• Install, commission and upgrade transmission, DWDM, IP/MPLS, Ethernet and voice devices as part of internal projects.
