Field Operations Manager (Digital Payments) - Mandarin Speaking

About the role

A leading global fintech company providing digital payment and merchant solutions across Asian markets is looking for a Field Operations Manager (Digital Payments) based in Singapore. The role suits someone who enjoys being on the ground, building relationships and driving operational excellence, and focuses on adopting digital payment solutions and engaging merchants across Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Set up merchants in the assigned territory for payment acceptance, including QR payments, POS devices and payment terminals.
• Visit key business districts and merchant locations regularly to improve payment performance and transaction success rates.
• Gather merchant feedback, coordinate with technical and operations teams to resolve issues, and train merchants on payment processes and best practices.
• Support business development projects, campaign activations and ongoing operational support with merchants and partners.
• Build relationships with Mandarin-speaking merchants and partners in China and other regional markets, including business discussions, issue resolution and training in Mandarin.
• Work with operations, compliance, product and business development teams, and maintain compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
• Manage payment materials such as QR stands, POS devices and promotional collateral, including inventory, distribution and deployment.
• Monitor transaction performance and acceptance rates, analyse trends and recommend actions to grow adoption and transactions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in any discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in payments, merchant operations, FMCG, retail, O2O platforms or related fields.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin (at least B3 in GCE "O" Level Chinese or equivalent).
• Knowledge of payment concepts such as acquiring, QR payments, merchant acceptance and payment aggregation.
• Comfortable in a field-based role with regular merchant visits.
