Financial Controller - Abbott Nutrition

About the role

Abbott Nutrition (ANI) in Singapore is looking for a Financial Controller to provide financial planning, control and stewardship for the ANI division of the Singapore affiliate. The role acts as a business partner so that all commercial activities and objectives are maximised and delivered. It sits within the finance leadership team and is part of the Financial Planning and Analysis job family.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure financial management and controls across the ANI division, covering financial control, planning, reporting, analysis and cash flow.
• Help set financial and business goals, strategies, tactics and priorities, and track and monitor actual sales and margin performance.
• Prepare commentary on results and take timely action on variances and operating issues.
• Manage and control department expenses and ensure month-end processes and accounting entries are accurate.
• Establish and maintain internal processes, procedures and controls that protect the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting and forecasts.
• Prepare plans, roll-forward budget estimates and other area and affiliate request reviews, and critically assess assumptions.
• Support the commercial team with analytical support on KPIs and issues such as distributor contracts, tenders, pricing, gross-to-net and parallel imports.
• Take part in business-process improvement, margin and profit improvement initiatives, management reviews and the affiliate compliance committee.
• Review key customers and distributors, especially new accounts, and assess their creditworthiness.
• Ensure adherence to local and corporate financial and OEC policies, and coach Finance Analysts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Minimum of 10 years of management experience.
• Highly ambitious, driven to achieve excellent standards and to seek continual improvement.
• Confident communicator and influencer who can build relationships and challenge management with credibility.
• Able to balance hands-on work with high-level oversight.
• English language proficiency.
