Financial Controller

About the role

Sian Chay Medical Institution (SCMI) is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its finance function across 14 Singapore locations. The role will ensure accurate accounting, robust financial reporting, and effective cash‑flow management to support the organisation’s mission of providing free Traditional Chinese Medicine services.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting, month‑end close, and preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to inform senior management decisions.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, compliance with Singapore accounting standards, GST and tax regulations.
• Prepare and report on grant and donation accounting, ensuring donor requirements are met.
• Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering transparency and financial sustainability.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives and investment planning.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA/CPA/CA preferred.
• Extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and cost control.
• Strong analytical ability with experience in variance analysis and financial planning.
• Familiarity with accounting standards, internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in non‑profit, healthcare or social‑service environments is an advantage.
• Knowledge of GST, tax compliance and Singapore regulations.
