Financial Services Assurance - Digital Innovation Garage Internship

About the role

PwC is looking for students with a strong academic background in computer science, information systems or software development to join its Financial Services Assurance Digital Innovation Garage (DIG) team. This entry-level associate internship brings programming and software development knowledge to help design and build solutions that make financial services audits more automated, data-driven and insightful.

Key responsibilities

• Digital solutions: support senior team members in gathering business and data requirements, data analysis and testing for data strategy, data roadmap and data solution projects, and give point-of-view and recommendations on technology and data solution assessments
• Build digital solutions using Python, R, Java or C#, and intermediate-to-advanced Excel (VBA a strong plus)
• Use automation tools such as ABBYY and UiPath
• Design data cleansing routines covering standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking and matching, and deploy global tools across the Financial Services Assurance practice
• Help audit teams and clients extract data from complex IT systems and deliver standard, high-quality data analysis, including bespoke analysis
• Write SQL queries, use predictive analytics, web scraping and natural language processing with Python/R, and use Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau to analyse and visualise client data

Required profile

• Student keen to develop themselves in the profession, with a strong academic background in computer science, information systems or software development
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, confident and creative, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Service-oriented, committed to teamwork and excellence, with a good co-curricular record

Required skills

• Strong in at least one programming language (Python, R, Java or C#)
• Intermediate to advanced Excel (VBA a strong plus)
• SQL, data cleansing, data analysis and visualization (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau)
