Fire Project Engineer

About the role

Johnson Controls is hiring a Fire Project Engineer to oversee building services projects, including fire protection systems, so they are completed in line with scope, budget, codes and schedule. The role involves coordinating with the customer, subcontractors and the sales team, and entry-level candidates are welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Define scope, budget and schedule, and plan and oversee the work schedule for several small to medium projects
• Coordinate communication with the customer and track progress, tasks and project health
• Identify project risks and recommend resolutions, and identify and secure variation orders
• Monitor compliance with codes, practices, QA/QC policies and specifications, and run regular quality audits of suppliers and subcontractors
• Cost control and follow up on payments from customers and to suppliers
• Manage reports and documents, and work with the sales team on tender bidding
• Supervise subcontractors' work at site, schedule material purchases and deliveries, and supervise assistant project engineers and technicians if any
• Handle system applications, drafting, database generation and commissioning
• Train the customer, provide the first-year maintenance warranty schedule and hand over the project to the service team

Required profile

• Diploma or degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience in building services, M&E or construction, preferably in fire protection systems
• Competence in chiller plants and airside replacement
• Ability to interact with clients, consultants and subcontractors
• Willingness to work odd hours when needed and willingness to learn

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel, Word and MS Project (essential)
• Chiller plant and airside replacement knowledge
