Food Service Assistant – School Canteen (Weekdays)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and friendly Food Service Assistant to join our team at a major international school canteen. You will help deliver daily snack and lunch services, operate a cashless POS system, and support events and banqueting.

Key responsibilities

• Pack and plate food items into bento boxes or onto plates.
• Operate the cashless POS system for student payments.
• Assist the kitchen team with handling cold and hot food safely.
• Replenish and arrange food, drinks, packaging, and cutlery on shelves and fridges.
• Support event setup, serving, and clearing when required.
• Clean and sanitise utensils, serving ware, and work stations.
• Monitor temperature of warmer carts and beverage chillers and report issues.

Required profile

• Previous experience in catering or cafeteria operations (preferred).
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and food allergens.
• Ability to lift heavy items occasionally.
• WSQ Food Safety and Hygiene Level 1 (minimum) and pass a criminal background check.
• Availability for full‑time (44 hours/week) or part‑time (10 am‑2 pm weekdays).
