Frontend Software Engineer – Global Payments

About the role

ByteDance’s Global Payment team is looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to help build consumer digital wallets and payment products that power a seamless, secure experience across TikTok and other platforms. You will work on web‑based solutions that serve users, merchants and developers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop global consumer digital wallets and payment products for a cross‑platform ecosystem.
• Build web‑based payment experiences for mobile and PC, leveraging modern frameworks.
• Collaborate with product design, product management and engineering teams to ensure efficiency, safety and high performance.
• Research emerging web technologies, evaluate new frameworks, and apply innovations to improve the product iteratively.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of frontend development experience in a large‑scale internet business.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑performance, highly available web applications with excellent user experience.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a solid understanding of web‑based system design.
• Self‑motivated, agile learner with a sense of product ownership and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, global team.

Required skills

• Expertise in JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Proficiency with at least one modern framework such as React, Vue or Angular.
• Experience with build and bundling tools like Webpack, Rollup, Babel and AST manipulation.
• Ability to implement high‑performance, reliable web applications.
