Full Stack Software Engineer (React / Node.js / React Native)

About the role

Activate Interactive, a technology consultancy in Singapore, is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract (potential extension or conversion to permanent with good performance). The role covers mobile and web application development for government agencies, using React, Node.js and React Native.

Key responsibilities

• Develop responsive web interfaces with React and TypeScript, and mobile features with React Native
• Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs with Node.js (Express/NestJS or equivalent)
• Integrate clients with APIs, third-party services and enterprise systems
• Design data access logic and work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and object storage
• Write unit and integration tests, take part in code reviews and maintain engineering quality
• Use Git workflows and contribute to CI/CD pipelines
• Containerize apps with Docker and deploy to AWS services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS and CloudWatch
• Apply secure coding practices and troubleshoot defects and production issues, supporting SIT, UAT and releases
• Work in Agile ceremonies with UX, QA, DevOps, product and architecture teams

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered
• 3-5 years of professional software development with full-stack responsibilities
• Production experience with React/TypeScript web apps and Node.js backends, and React Native or mobile feature delivery
• Experience with Git, automated testing and CI/CD in an Agile lifecycle, and deploying or supporting apps on AWS
• Desirable: containerized/cloud-native apps, IaC or Kubernetes, secure enterprise or Singapore Government digital services, production monitoring and incident resolution

Required skills

• JavaScript/TypeScript and React (Next.js, NestJS/Express, REST APIs)
• React Native or proven mobile app development
• NoSQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB)
• Git, automated testing (e.g. Jest), CI/CD and AWS basics
• Desirable: AWS ECS/EKS/Lambda/RDS/S3/CloudWatch, Terraform/CloudFormation, Kubernetes
