General Technician

About the role

The General Technician will support the repair of gas turbine components by performing a variety of hand‑skilled processes and operating specialised machinery and test equipment. Reporting to the Operations Leader, the role ensures high‑quality output while adhering to safety and production standards.

Key responsibilities

• Blend and polish metal and coating surfaces to required specifications.
• Perform manual drilling during the cooling‑hole re‑opening process.
• Operate test equipment such as airflow, waterflow and moment‑weighing devices.
• Run machines including robotic polishers, shot‑peening units and cold‑spraying systems.
• Maintain product quality, equipment condition, production pace, housekeeping and schedules.
• Comply with all EHS regulations and promptly report unsafe conditions.
• Assist other areas of work as assigned.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education; a professional certificate or NiTEC in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience is desirable, but candidates without experience may be considered.
• Basic command of English (spoken and written).
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.

Required skills

• Blending and polishing of metal surfaces.

• Use of robotic polishers, shot‑peening and cold‑spraying machines.
• Proficiency with pneumatic and powered hand tools.
