GL Accountant (Contract) - Financial Institution

About the role

A leading global financial institution, with a long-standing presence across Asia and major financial markets, is recruiting a GL Accountant on a 5-month contract to support finance operations across Singapore and Hong Kong. The role offers hands-on exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, accrual accounting and stakeholder management in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and cost accounting activities.
• Prepare monthly accruals and ensure expenses are recognised accurately within the correct reporting periods.
• Perform journal posting, account reconciliations and financial transaction reviews.
• Support month-end closing and the preparation of management financial reports.
• Review and process invoices, ensuring accurate coding, documentation and timely approvals.
• Assist with GST claims and maintain supporting documentation to meet compliance requirements.
• Partner with stakeholders across multiple business functions to resolve accounting and finance matters.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Prior experience in accounting, finance operations or financial reporting environments.

Required skills

• Hands-on knowledge of general ledger accounting, accruals and month-end closing activities.

What we offer

• Salary of SG$6,000 to SG$7,000 per month (SG$72,000 to SG$84,000 per year).
