Global Head of AI

About the role

A rapidly growing consumer tech firm is looking for a Global Head of AI to define its AI strategy at global scale, build world-class AI organizations and drive measurable business outcomes through production-grade AI systems. The position is fully remote, based in Singapore, and requires fluent Mandarin (HSK 5 and above) because of frequent communication with North Asian stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the company's global AI vision, strategy and long-term technology roadmap, partnering with executive leadership on high-impact AI opportunities.
• Build, scale and lead an AI organization covering AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Data Science, Applied Research, AI Product and Platform Engineering, and set governance, responsible AI practices and security standards.
• Lead recommendation systems, personalization engines, search and discovery, retrieval, ranking, user intent modelling, real-time decisioning, experimentation platforms and lifecycle engagement.
• Drive LLM applications, enterprise AI assistants, conversational AI, agentic AI workflows, multi-agent systems, RAG-based solutions, AI copilots and intelligent automation.
• Develop scalable AI infrastructure, MLOps, AI Operations and AI Engineering practices, and reusable AI services.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Commercial and Customer Experience teams to improve engagement, retention and revenue through AI.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science or applied AI engineering, with proven deployments serving millions of users.
• Deep expertise in recommendation, personalization, search, ranking or intelligent decisioning, and experience with production-grade LLM applications.
• Proven experience leading large-scale AI, ML or data science organizations of 30+ people, preferably 50-100+, with managers of managers, and managing managers and leaders.
• Executive-level experience in strategy, investment decisions, organizational design, talent planning and cross-functional alignment.
• Mandarin Chinese at professional working level (HSK 5 and above).
