Global Product Support Engineer (Equipment)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Global Product Support (GPS) Engineer (Equipment) in Singapore. The role covers servicing new products, troubleshooting field issues and supporting customer engineers and process engineers before shipments arrive.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs) to service new products, and collect process and qualification data to build BKMs
• Contribute to the FMECA process and participate in or own the CAPA process
• Participate in or own first-chamber Build & Test in the Apps lab, and solve issues or work with Engineering to address them
• Work with Manufacturing to develop procedures and take part, if required, in New Product final testing
• Partner with Quality & Reliability (Q&R) to review and address Top Field Issues
• Develop and document procedures for installation, retrofit and maintenance (Technical Product Manuals)
• Develop Customer Engineering Notices (CENs), Internal Service Bulletins (ISBs) and troubleshooting guides
• Conduct or facilitate Failure Analysis (FA) when needed
• Develop the initial training package for new products and train Customer Engineers, Process Engineers and Technical Product Support staff before shipment
• Identify new parts that need stocking by AGS and ensure they are kept in the right locations

Required profile

• At least 2 years of relevant equipment experience in the semiconductor industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence in liaising with internal and external stakeholders of various seniorities

Required skills

• Understanding of vacuum chambers used in PVD or CVD
• Knowledge of wet clean products
• Hands-on skills in electro-mechanical semiconductor assemblies

The work location is Science Park II, moving to Tampines from April 2027. Travel is required 20% of the time; relocation is not eligible. The position is full-time, regular and open to assignees.
