Group Controller – Consolidation & Reporting (Shipping)

About the role

This is a high‑impact, build‑from‑scratch position for a finance leader who will own the consolidation and reporting function for a growing international shipping organization in Singapore. You will work closely with the Group CFO and partner with Group Finance on global consolidation matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end consolidation for Singapore entities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Partner with Group Finance on group‑wide consolidation activities and reporting.
• Manage complex accounting areas such as joint ventures, equity‑method accounting, non‑controlling interests and multi‑layered ownership structures.
• Oversee intercompany eliminations, statutory reporting and regulatory compliance in Singapore.
• Prepare supporting schedules, technical accounting papers and audit documentation.
• Drive intercompany reconciliation processes across jurisdictions.
• Act as the primary contact for auditors, banks and external stakeholders locally.
• Design and implement scalable finance processes, internal controls and build the Singapore finance team.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA/CPA/CMA qualification.
• Prior external audit experience with a Big 4 firm.
• Strong technical expertise in IFRS and proven experience in group consolidation with complex structures.
• Ability to operate independently across geographies and time zones.
• Hands‑on, execution‑focused mindset with a desire to create and scale processes.
• Proactive, autonomous and solutions‑driven, comfortable managing ambiguity.
