Group Financial Controller – Fintech & Big 4 Experience

About the role

The company is seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead finance operations across a regional fintech group. This senior position combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to influence business decisions and drive process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall ownership of the group’s accounting, consolidation and financial reporting activities.
• Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results for multiple entities.
• Oversee statutory requirements and coordinate year‑end audits across the group.
• Manage and develop the regional accounting team, ensuring oversight and accountability.
• Act as the internal subject‑matter expert on complex accounting matters.
• Collaborate with business and functional leaders on financial aspects of new initiatives.
• Strengthen financial controls, policies and reporting processes as the organisation grows.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve finance workflows.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax specialists and other advisers.
• Own finance‑related projects and proactively address improvement areas.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Approximately 10+ years of relevant finance experience.
• Strong foundation in a Big 4 accounting firm followed by commercial/in‑house experience, ideally in fintech, payments or technology.
• Hands‑on experience in consolidation, financial reporting, statutory accounts and audit management.
• Good technical knowledge of IFRS and handling of complex accounting matters.
• Experience working across multiple entities and countries in a regional or international organisation.
• Confident communicator able to work with senior management and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude with ownership mindset.
