GST Assistant Manager / Manager - Indirect Tax

About the role

Grant Thornton Singapore's Indirect Tax team advises local and multinational clients on GST compliance, ASK/ACAP, advisory, e-invoicing and transaction-related matters. It is part of the wider Tax practice, which also covers Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing and Employer Solutions & Private Clients. The firm is looking for an experienced GST professional to join the team at Assistant Manager or Manager level, taking ownership of client engagements and working with clients and senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage GST compliance engagements, including GST health-checks, ASK annual reviews and ACAP reviews
• Support clients in preparing for and implementing InvoiceNow and other technology-driven process improvements
• Undertake vendor and purchaser due diligence as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Manage and support advisory and consulting assignments, and support clients with IRAS enquiries and audits
• Project manage supply chain assignments across taxes and jurisdictions using the firm's global network
• Coach, mentor and develop junior team members
• For the Manager: build client relationships, assist with GST marketing and business development, lead advisory and consulting assignments, and support practice growth and cross-selling

Required profile

• Recognised degree, diploma or professional qualification in Accounting or a related field
• ATP accreditation from the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP) is highly advantageous
• Minimum 4 years of relevant GST experience for Assistant Manager, 5 years for Manager
• Ability to manage multiple GST engagements at once and deliver on time
• Strong communication skills with clients and stakeholders

Required skills

• Experience with GST reporting tools, data analytics solutions, e-invoicing platforms or similar tax compliance and advisory tools is advantageous
• Organisational skills and attention to detail
