About the role
The Guest Service Officer is the first point of contact for hotel guests, delivering exceptional hospitality and ensuring smooth daily operations at the front desk. This role requires a professional appearance, strong communication, and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
Key responsibilities
- Provide courteous and efficient service to guests, handling inquiries, requests, and complaints.
- Manage cash transactions, process payments, and maintain accurate records of US currency and exchange rates.
- Operate front‑desk equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
- Collaborate with department heads and shipboard employees to resolve issues and negotiate resolutions.
- Uphold the department’s reputation by taking ownership of new and varied guest requests.
Required profile
- Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
- At least one year of cash‑handling experience with knowledge of US currency.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Professional demeanor with strong organizational and decision‑making abilities.
Required skills
- Cash handling and familiarity with US currency and exchange rates.
- Operation of basic office equipment (telephones, computers, copy machines).
