Head of Brokerage, Wealth Management Technology

About the role

The Head of Brokerage, Wealth Management Technology leads the strategic design, engineering and delivery of the bank's brokerage and wealth-trading platform. The role builds high-performance, scalable systems that enable seamless client trading, global market access and rapid product expansion across equities, ETFs and crypto, working closely with business and product teams to support growth in retail and affluent client segments.

Key responsibilities

• Set the long-term technology strategy for brokerage and wealth-trading platforms, aligned with the bank's multi-market growth agenda.
• Architect resilient, secure and scalable systems covering client channels, order management, execution, market data, risk controls and post-trade flows, and lead platform modernisation toward cloud-native, event-driven, API-first designs.
• Oversee front-to-back brokerage systems including client trading interfaces, OMS/EMS, routing engines, settlement interfaces and global market access gateways, and strengthen integrations with exchanges, brokers, market-data providers and liquidity partners.
• Drive low-latency execution, high availability and automated market-access risk controls, and deliver features such as fractional trading, 24 by 7 trading, global multi-market access and advanced order types.
• Establish SRE frameworks for zero downtime during critical trading windows, with monitoring, incident management, disaster recovery and elastic scaling.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including technology-risk standards, market-conduct rules and operations controls.
• Partner with brokerage, wealth and digital product teams to turn commercial priorities into technical roadmaps, co-lead product innovation and provide data-driven insights on scalability and client experience.
• Build and lead engineering, architecture and platform-operations teams, and communicate strategy, risks and progress to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong experience in brokerage, wealth-trading or capital-markets technology, with deep understanding of multi-market trading workflows.
• Proven success delivering mission-critical trading systems (OMS/EMS, market connectivity, real-time data, post-trade processing).
• Experience leading engineering or platform teams in high-scale trading environments.
• Ability to work with senior business and product stakeholders and simplify technical concepts.

Required skills

• Legacy refactoring, cloud engineering, microservices and API-driven platforms.
• Real-time data architectures.
• Familiarity with regulatory and technology-risk expectations in cross-border trading.
