Health, Safety & Risk Executive

About the role

The Health, Safety & Risk Executive will lead the development and maintenance of a robust safety culture across Singapore American School. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Safety, Security & Operational Risk, you will ensure compliance with local legislation, ISO 45001 standards and internal safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Review, implement and continuously improve the school’s Health & Safety Policy.
• Ensure workplace safety procedures align with the Workplace Safety & Health Act, Fire Code and ISO 45001.
• Maintain a central repository of risk assessments for operations, labs, maintenance and renovations.
• Champion Permit‑to‑Work and other safety systems for contractors and vendors.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and investigations of incidents, reporting to MOM as required.
• Plan and support emergency drills, evacuation exercises and fire safety compliance.
• Design and deliver safety training for staff, contractors and vendors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in occupational health and safety within an educational or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore’s Workplace Safety & Health Act, fire safety regulations and ISO 45001.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to lead safety initiatives and foster collective responsibility.
