Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Hotel Maintenance Technician ensures that guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces are kept in excellent working order. Working on a Hilton Garden Inn property, you will perform a wide range of repairs and preventative tasks to support smooth hotel operations and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public spaces and back‑of‑house areas for defects and perform repairs such as replacing bulbs, switches, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint and furniture.
• Carry out minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air‑conditioning, painting, wall‑covering and masonry work as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in safe condition and keep detailed logs and inspection sheets in English.
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls throughout the hotel and report any health‑and‑safety concerns.
• Assist with general hotel operations when required.

Required profile

• Certificate in a trade such as Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Carpentry or Plumbing (preferred).
• Current knowledge of general maintenance and engineering practices.
• Experience working in a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
• Strong work ethic and a passion for delivering great customer service.
• Ability to work independently within established timeframes.

Required skills

• Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical skills.
• Familiarity with air‑conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry tasks.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Physical ability to lift up to 80 lb, kneel, stoop and climb ladders up to 30 ft.
