Intern - NAND Device Engineering AI

About the role

Micron is looking for an AI / Data Science intern in its NAND Device Engineering organization in Singapore. You will work on AI-enabled solutions that speed up device characterization and improve data-driven decisions for advanced 3D NAND technologies, applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science and automation to semiconductor engineering datasets. High-performing candidates may be considered for future full-time opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-enabled workflows that automate device characterization data collection, analysis, anomaly detection and reporting across multiple electrical characterization datasets.
• Apply machine learning, statistical modeling and Agentic AI to identify performance trends, classify device behaviors and generate engineering insights from large-scale datasets.
• Build automated data pipelines for extraction, cleansing, feature engineering and integration from characterization and metrology sources.
• Create interactive dashboards, visualization tools and AI assistant capabilities for engineers to explore data and generate summary reports.
• Evaluate Generative AI, Large Language Models and Agentic solutions for workflow automation, project tracking, knowledge retrieval and report generation.
• Deliverables include an AI-enabled characterization workflow, an intelligent dashboard, a machine learning or Agentic AI model, an automated reporting framework, and a final presentation with documentation and reusable software assets.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Able to commit to a full-time internship of 6 months.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication skills and self-motivation.

Required skills

• Strong programming in Python and experience building data analysis, automation or software solutions.
• Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, data science or AI concepts.
• Familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain or similar.
• Desirable: data visualization, dashboard development, databases and workflow automation platforms.
