Intern – Process & Product Development in PVD Chambers

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductor and advanced display technologies. The internship offers hands‑on experience in process and product development of physical vapor deposition (PVD) chambers used for hybrid bonding of SOIC advanced packaging. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to perform experiments, collect data and analyse results.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize PVD processes and measure metal film properties, preparing data and reports for review.
• Perform hardware characterization on moderately complex systems while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Troubleshoot process engineering issues, conduct root‑cause analysis and support resolution of moderately difficult problems.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to think constructively, solve problems creatively and contribute to innovative product cycles.
• Eagerness to learn state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor technologies and engage with problem‑solving activities for leading foundries.
