Investment Associate (Senior Investment Analyst)

About the role

The Multi Asset Solutions Team (MAST) designs and manages investment solutions for retail, institutional and retirement clients worldwide, including the US, Canada and Asia. This Investment Associate role supports the MAST Asia Pacific team in managing its existing funds and clients, and helps prepare proposals for new client and investment solution opportunities. It covers analysis for new business, bespoke analysis for live portfolios, trade execution and research for investment ideas.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative investment analysis and build financial models to design investment solutions for new business proposals.
• Maintain and improve proprietary financial models and workbooks, evaluate investment opportunities and monitor performance and risk across portfolios.
• Support the preparation and raising of trades for certain funds.
• Take part in the global investment idea generation process through the Research Hubs framework.
• Carry out ad hoc analysis for peer group design, monitoring, market structure and behaviour.
• Support client servicing and pitching in Singapore and South-East Asia.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or similar.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in investment management, accountancy, banking or a related field; prior knowledge of financial markets is preferable.
• Collaborative team player with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Bloomberg.
• Coding experience (e.g. Python) and experience with BlackRock Aladdin are an advantage.
