IT Manager / Senior Manager – Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

This IT Manager or Senior Manager position sits within the IT team and works closely with the Applications team to design and implement secure, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure to support critical government systems and digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, aligned with government policies and standards such as IM8 and Zero Trust.
• Oversee contractors managing application systems hosted in the cloud to ensure high availability, performance and reliability.
• Enable and support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, and drive automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging and observability solutions for proactive system management.
• Manage and resolve incidents, problems and changes according to ITIL processes, perform root cause analysis and put preventive measures in place for recurring issues.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance and audit requirements.
• Work with the CISO to coordinate responses to cybersecurity incidents.
• Manage contracts for security testing services (Network Vulnerability Assessment, Cloud and Web Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Testing, Source Code Reviews).
• Manage contracts for DDoS mitigation and Web Application Firewall (WAF) services.
• Conduct change management to support operations and ensure governance compliance.

Required profile

• Experience in cloud infrastructure engineering with a good understanding of Azure services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity and Access Management).
• Familiarity with ITIL service management processes, including Incident, Problem and Change Management.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.

• Observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Grafana
• Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
