IT Operations & Command Centre Manager (VP)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Operations & Command Centre Manager to lead our 24x7 data centre team within a fast‑moving banking environment. The role oversees end‑to‑end management of core banking infrastructure, batch processing and Level 1 support while driving automation and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day data‑centre operations, ensuring high availability, performance and backup compliance.
• Design, schedule and manage batch jobs, including critical end‑of‑day and end‑of‑month financial runs across mainframe and distributed platforms.
• Lead the Level 1 support team, handling incident logging, prioritisation, escalation and problem‑management processes.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities, develop an Operations Acceptance Framework and manage enterprise workload automation tools.
• Mentor and develop a team of more than 30 operations engineers, manage vendor relationships and coordinate BAU changes with internal and external partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing 24x7 data‑centre and IT operations in a banking or financial services setting.
• Strong background in batch processing, application monitoring and incident management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large technical teams and handle vendor management.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a focus on operational efficiency.
